I am spiritually disturbed by the balance of relationship humanity has with the Earth. Together we all consume, producing little to rebalance our consumption. I seek peace and balance with humanity’s aims and the only viable planet known to man. Paradise, The Garden of Eden turned into a storm filled, drowning, poisonous, toxic, bleached, paved, burning, gas producing, chemically altered, sixth mass extinction, smog covered arid badland of sickness, famine, and pollution. Goodbye to the tree, goodbye to the river, goodbye to the sky and eventually the stars as our uncareful influence fills the sky with reflecting light of our own cities and the passing armadas of satellites. Our approach to balance upon the Earth has been vicious, cruel, and wrong. I show it peacefully, for today we live in peace and abundance. But for how long?
On a different note, I began compiling my animal photographs into their own category for the sake of my love of Pokémon! The themes represented in the presentation of Pokémon: balance, love, and companionship with the natural world has always been a story and brand of peace for me. I had all 151 Pokémon on my original Red Version. I have a full living dex and shiny charm on ORAS/Pokébank. Pokémon SNAP was an obsession for me as a kid! I even have a Pokémon tattoo. Collecting them all, the wide and explorative diversity, and the means to approach between the environments of humans and non humans, has always been a joy to me. I see this collection largely like my own real life Pokédex and I Tom Snap myself.
