This piece was inspired by the Arctic Monkey’s cover art for the album: Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino. It's one of my favorite albums and I’ve always been captivated by the model set that adorns the front of the album. The model is meant to relate the concept of the album narrative which is a hyper capitalistic science fiction property endeavor by a blindly idealistic and visionary protagonist - on the moon. My piece is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and relates many of the same futuristic themes and style borrowed from the artistic direction of this Arctic Monkeys musical project.

The best part of my first foray into wood working was playing with these shapes. I did not plan them all. And spent my favorite moments coming up with intriguing combinations.
